The Amalfi Coast
Autumn is the quiet season on the Amalfi Coast, and hotel, restaurant, and activity prices are considerably lower. Stroll through Positano’s narrow streets with a few other intrepid tourists and stop at the lemon orchard alley ‘Limonate’, which you admired on Instagram.
Naples in Autumn
Naples in the fall is enchanting, with oranges, reds, and browns everywhere and a seaside town feel. The coast of Via Partenope is one of the most scenic spots on the coast, with Capri and Ischia islands visible on a clear day.
Florence
Locals are well aware that autumn is Florentine culture. Florence hosts many exhibitions in October and November, some of which are definitely not to be missed.

Lakes in the Dolomites

Trentino
The region also has some of the best ski chalets in Italy. Visit Cortina d’Ampezzo, a picturesque mountain town 30 minutes from the region’s capital, Trento. Make time to visit Lake Tver, a small lake surrounded by mountains and forests. It will be gorgeous in autumn.
Venice in Autumn
Venice in autumn means fewer tourists. This is much better than walking down narrow streets and crossing amazing bridges. The historic regatta takes place on the 1st of September on the Grand Canal and is part of the “Voga alla Veneta” race. The usual parade follows a millennia-old tradition with typical 16th-century boats and gondolas carrying the Doge (Venice’s main figure), faithfully recreating the glorious and powerful past.
Cinque Terre

Palermo
The city is known for its history, culture, architecture, and gastronomy, which have played an important role in much of its existence. It is over 2,700 years old. Palermo is located northwest of Sicily on the Gulf of Palermo in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Palermo has very hot summers, but autumn temperatures are around 20-22 degrees Celsius and you can expect a few days of rain.
Catania
If you visit Italy in the fall, you can think of Catania, a city rich in history, heritage, and tradition, with beautiful landscapes similar to those of Naples, between the sea and the volcanoes. The active volcano Etna protects the city from a height of over 3000 meters above sea level. Especially in winter, the cones are often covered with snow, which is a pleasant experience.
