Top 5 German Cities to Visit in Winter

Berlin

The German capital is a lively place all winter long. A few weeks after the year literally kicked off in style in front of the world-famous Brandenburg Gate, locals and tourists alike are gearing up for the lavish party that accompanies Fashion Week.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is beautiful all year round and is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. On the way back, we made a detour to the nearby Neuschwanstein Castle. It looks more gorgeous than usual in the snow.

Nuremberg

Nuremberg is known for its beautiful Christkindl’s Markt, but there’s much more to do besides drinking Glüh’s wines and admiring his Christmas decorations along the cobblestone streets. For stays of 2 days or more, consider purchasing the Nuremberg Card, which gives you free entry to over 40 museums and attractions in the area.

Baden-Baden

Boost your immune system with a stress-relieving massage or rejuvenating facial, or visit the holistic sea salt caves of Salina Baden-Baden. Baden-Baden is also a great hub for half-day trips to places like Karlsruhe, the Black Forest, and Strasbourg, France.

Aachen

Aachen:  cathedral,  old town, Elisenbrunnen. Traditional and modern boutique cafe. Students, families, and people of all ages. The charm of our city is as diverse as the city itself. To experience the romance and vibrant nightlife of the German metropolis, in addition to experiencing the spa town with its charming historic sites, visit Aachen during your winter vacation.
